Communicate with your customers; get to know them!
The experience economy is more about how you sell something than what you actually sell. Forget about product distinction. In today’s retail scenario, consumers are short on the ‘distinct experience’ – the brand should make an effort to take the extra step to create a bond with them always!
The key to success, then, is to differentiate your business from the crowd. If you can offer your customers something unique and valuable beyond the usual discount, chances are they’ll be more likely to stick with your brand.
Knowing your customer, rewarding their purchases with more benefits and loyalty programs can provide you with the ability to set yourself apart from competition and offer them products and a service level that they are always on the lookout for.
Better communication with your customer is also a key. It’s that age-old business mantra we’ve been hearing since we can remember – ‘customer is king’.
Trust, understanding, commitment and support is important, like in any other relationship. Get to know your customer, make your promise and then ensure that all elements are synchronized to nurture the bond.

Giordano steps up to the digital era through e-commerce! (Part 1)
Innovation in mobile technology, the ever-increasing influence of social networks and continuously changing demographics have all fueled the growth of online shopping. Regional retailers will need to jump onto the bandwagon and keep finding ways to entice the tech-savvy consumers who are relishing the prospect of researching, comparing and making purchases online 24/7.
Online shopping has reduced the time span between making a purchase and receiving one’s favorite product in one’s hand when you want it and where you want it.
The Middle East e-commerce market is valued at over US$ 5 Billion and is expected to double within the next 2 years.
Mobile commerce also has experienced growth within the region. Two-thirds of online shoppers in Saudi Arabia made their latest online purchases via a smartphone.
With a quickly expanding internet audience and the continued creation of logistics infrastructures from the ground up, the region is poised to become a larger player in the global eCommerce market as time progresses. The rise of online shopping points out to the fact that consumers are becoming more comfortable in using their credit cards as a mode of online payment. Middle East retailers will need to improve the overall shopping experience online including making sure that the shopper feels completely secure when providing personal details and when making payments.
We, at Giordano, consider online shopping as an opportunity to provide a multiple channel experience for our customers and a great way to complement our own retail stores. Offering convenience and a brand-defining experience are the main objectives for the launch of our e-shopping portal www.giordano.ae
By implementing technology, retailers can connect and communicate with people by using real-time customer and device data to create a seamless experience and a consistent brand story.
With the objective to build loyalty and rewards for inspiring brand engagement and by providing personalized communications across all platforms, retailers will be able to drive eCommerce within their business
